To celebrate 150 years of passenger travel on their line, the Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company has chartered a steam train with heritage carriages to travel from Carlisle to York, home of the National Railway Museum.

Organisations which support and promote the Settle Carlisle Railway are working together to provide a year of celebrations to mark 150 years of passenger services along the world-famous line.

Local small businesses and charities were invited to have a free stall and free mulled wine was available for those visiting the station.
